Job Description

Data Analytics manager required to work within the Asset Manager group of an investment bank to determine data requirements and participate on the design and delivery of reporting applications

This role will support the group to maximise the understanding of its data and increase its profitability via use of analysis to identify new opportunities and supporting strategies to achieve business objectives.

You will be responsible for developing and executing analytical initiatives as directed and implement best solutions.

This role is for someone who is currently a Data Analyst or Analyst Developer, looking at data analytics and data science

There is an internal group infrastructure that they can use to build out different data marts and visualisation tools

They are also looking at different cloud providers now to move to either Google Cloud or Amazon and ultimately you will be working with third party providers

Most of their data engineering team is in India so London is focussed on working with the business - what visualisation do they need to build, providing thought leadership to the offshore teams

Candidates will still need to be technical so they can have technical conversations and understand what's being built, also mocking up POC's for the business and getting involved in hands on work when required

Tableau preferable but experience in alternatives such as at Qlik or other similar visualisation tools would be acceptable

Candidates should have Python, Spark/Hadoop and Hive

Either GCP or AWS would be nice to have too

Candidates will need to be able to python scripts to as they begin on MI/BI work to start with for first 12 months before moving more into machine learning and true data science capability

You must have experience as a data analyst in a regulated industry, ideally asset management / financial services

An understanding of data modelling is essential (Relational, Semantic, conceptual)

This opportunity may suit someone who is more Visualisation and Analytics orientated but with an interest in moving into Data science/machine learning in the future

Candidates MUST have financial services experience
