Developer; Tech Evangelist; Java; Events; Public Speaking; Hackathons; Roadshows; Blogging

What is the opportunity?

This is extremely unique - it's working for one of my very successful FinTech clients in London who have a global presence and a flagship product that has/is already being rolled out to various financial institutions across the globe. It is to be an 'Tech Evangelist' for this product - you'll be travelling to different locations (some global) a lot and regularly running events/hackathons/roadshows whilst presenting at different events and meet-ups. You will be focussing on their product which is an innovative, disruptive product in the market right now in a very exciting area of financial services.

What are the requirements?

They want someone who is/has been a Developer and who can code to a very high standard. This is essential because you will be regularly liaising with both internal and external developers who build/use the product, so your coding skills must be on a par with the team. You will be given a coding test at the start of the process to decipher if you are right for this role.

However, as there is not much day-to-day coding involved in this role, you must be someone who is looking to take their career in technology in a different direction. Maybe you like blogging on innovative trends in the market or you have a passion for forums/meet-ups to talk about technology?

You must have strong presenting/public speaking skills as you will be hosting roadshows and events focussed on the client's product so an interest in doing this is also important.

What can they offer you?

A competitive basic salary + a bonus scheme and a fantastic environment to learn in. Their headquarters are in a beautiful location based in the City of London and they promote a start-up culture - relaxed dress code, Agile-orientated and a mature approach to work. You will also be given plenty of goodies upon joining and be eligible for lots of benefits.

This really is a brilliant opportunity for someone to take their career in technology in a different direction, one that will provide you with international travel and the chance to make talking about technology your job!
