Infrastructure Engineer; Operations Engineer; Juniper; SQL Server; Windows; Sophos; Banking
My client - a small Bank based in London - is looking to hire an experienced Infrastructure Engineer/Tech Lead to play a key role in their IT function following the business' decision to sell off large parts of the organisation. This in turn will lead to many of the systems used by the business and IT being decommissioned however this does mean that the IT department will be kept busy for the foreseeable future.
They need an all-rounder, someone who is used to working in a small environment and picking up different types of responsibilities. Some of the tasks you'd be expected to work on are:
- Managing events such as server trouble/software problems/problem management/windows-based queries.
- Setting up networks (Juniper).
- Database management (SQL Server).
- General troubleshooting
To be right for this role, you must have a proven track record of using the following:
- SQL Server
This is a key hire for the Bank and one that is likely to be extended past the 6-month mark. They promote a sociable, relaxed culture across the firm and the role will be unpredictable in its nature, meaning you won't be doing the same thing every day.
