One of our financial services clients is looking to hire a Project Manager to work on a key IT decommissioning and migration programme across their Lending space. The role focuses on the retirement of a long-serving legacy system, with dual priorities: overseeing the transition of loans to a new external platform and managing the disentanglement of internal accounts tied to payment services.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Serve as the central point of coordination across business and IT teams to align and drive forward change initiatives.
  • Engage cross-functional stakeholders to define requirements, map dependencies, estimate costs, and agree on timelines.
  • Manage updates and collaboration using JIRA
  • Support and coordinate activities required by change control boards and gateway processes.
  • Identify and remove delivery blockers, escalating issues where necessary to senior leadership.
  • Liaise between external vendors and internal business areas to ensure seamless delivery of solutions.
  • Lead the safe delivery of complex changes involving multiple internal and third-party contributors.

What you need to be considered:

  • A proven background as a Project Manager in delivering technology-driven change, with a good grasp of how business processes and tech systems intersect.
  • Previous experience working in the financial services domain
  • Skilled at stakeholder engagement, especially when working with distributed teams and third-party suppliers.
  • Comfortable facilitating workshops to create delivery roadmaps and highlight cross-team interdependencies and risks.
  • Strong Agile experience and using JIRA to track work and ensure transparency.
  • Familiarity with payments infrastructure, system migrations, and internal account management within a banking context.
  • Exposure to impact assessments and presenting proposals to change forums or governance boards.

What Will Help You Stand Out:

  • Experience with commercial lending systems, particularly loan migrations or legacy system retirement, will be highly advantageous.

The organisation operate a hybrid working policy - 2 days in their Bristol office, 3 days working from home. The contract is for an initial 6-months with a high likelihood of extending after this. This is a PAYE contract going through an Umbrella company. The rate quoted is the Umbrella rate.
