Test Automation - Java - API - Stub - AWS - CI/CD - Agile

Our client, a reputable financial services firm, is looking to hire a QA Automation Engineer to support the delivery of high-quality software through effective and scalable test automation. The role will suit a Java-based Automation Engineer who is interested in an opportunity to influence testing practices across multiple delivery models, ensuring quality is embedded throughout the SDLC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the evolution of automated testing practices across teams and delivery pipelines
  • Support the definition and implementation of automation strategies aligned to business and programme objectives
  • Design, build, and maintain stable, reusable automated test suites using Java-based frameworks
  • Collaborate with feature teams to determine appropriate levels of manual and automated testing
  • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous assurance and high-confidence releases

Skills and Experience Required

  • Strong experience in test automation within Agile development environments
  • Strong experience working with test stubs/mocks in automated testing
  • Proficiency in Java for REST API testing, including use of build and pipeline tooling
  • Experience with behaviour-driven development frameworks
  • Familiarity with cloud-hosted environments and troubleshooting testing issues within them
  • Exposure to modern platforms such as AWS and container orchestration technologies
  • Experience working within Agile and DevOps-aligned feature teams

This role will pay between £65k-£75k basic salary. The company operate a hybrid working model with two days a week working out of their London office, and three days a week working from home.
