What is the opportunity?

My client, a reputable Investment Bank based in Central London, is looking to hire a Release Train Engineer to play a key role within their Risk IT function. The area introduced an Agile delivery framework a few years back which has subsequently been rolled out to many other locations globally. They now need a Release Train Engineer to oversee several squads across different locations.

What will you do?

You will provide leadership, coaching and mentoring to your squads while operating an Agile Release Train. You will also be passionate about always finding ways to improve the way the teams are working, utilising data and tracking capabilities to do this. You will also look at how to ensure squads are working together collaboratively and how the teams can better their own delivery approach.

What do you need to succeed?

To be right for this role you need to be a real champion and pioneer across Agile. They want an experienced Release Train Engineer and someone who ideally has worked in the Banking space (although that is not essential). Previous Agile coaching and mentoring is a must and an accreditation in the field (for example, an RTE certification) would also be highly desirable. One key element you also need to have experience in is the ability to say NO when needed.

What can they offer you?

  • An excellent compensation package
  • The chance to come in and shape the Agile approach how you best see it.
  • The chance to showcase your Agile leadership qualities and to become a leader across the department.
