Software Developer: Java; Java 8; Back-end Development; Digital; Agile

What is the opportunity?

One of my Banking clients, who have embarked on a massive digital initiative that will change the landscape of organisation forever, is looking to hire a back-end Java Developer to join their Digital Delivery team in their Bristol offices. This person will be working on some key projects focussed on the full-scale development of digital applications.

Who are the they?

They are a global Bank that has decided to focus on their digital offering and as such has backing from every senior stakeholder to ensure its success. They have recently opened a brand new Digital studio in the heart of Bristol and this role will be working in these high-tech offices on new equipment and the latest technological innovations.

What will you need?

To be right for this role, you will be an existing Java Developer already working on developing back-end code to support a digital project. You do not need to have previous financial services experience for this role. The following skills are key:

  • Java coding experience (strong preference for Java 8)
  • Experience coding on a digital project where you have written unit tests and taken part in build and deployment activities.
  • Agile delivery exposure

What they can offer you?

  • Excellent compensation package including a large cash benefit scheme
  • 28 days' holiday
  • Opportunity to work in brand new, open-planned studio
  • Company social events.

This is a brilliant opportunity for any back-end Java Developer who is interested in working on a huge, transformational digital project in unique surroundings using up-to-date technologies. It's also a chance to get involved from the start and on an Agile project with a minimum 5-year life span.
