SRE/Engineering Lead | Banking | Contract | UK

A top-tier banking institution, is seeking an SRE/Engineering Lead with deep expertise in Prometheus and Grafana to support key initiatives related to their observability platform.

This contract focuses on uplifting observability for critical services including improving signal quality, reducing alert noise, and supporting operational resilience initiatives across SRE and platform teams.

Requirements / Key Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Prometheus (instrumentation, exporters, PromQL, alerting rules)
• Deep experience with Grafana, including dashboard design and alerting
• Proven ability to improve alert quality, reduce noise, and define KPIs, SLIs, and SLOs
• Experience working across metrics, logs, and traces (e.g. Grafana stack, OpenTelemetry)
• Comfortable delivering outcomes in large, regulated, high-availability environments
• Exposure to anomaly detection, correlation, or observability intelligence is advantageous

The role is Hybrid and will require 2 days per week in one of their offices which are located across the UK.

Please note this is a PAYE contract going through an Umbrella company. The rate quoted is the Umbrella rate.
